Does anyone have an idea as to whats happening here. This used to work
flawless on my old G4 set-up and now on a MAc Pro 3 ghtz its NOT happenin.
All
I'm doing is EXPORTING AUDIO TO MOVIE and when Logic completes it I open the
movie and theres no audio! I thought it was a quicktime issue but I'm on
QuickTime Pro (although there's NO reason it shouldnt work on standard
Quicktime
either) I then thought maybe the audios THERE I'm just not hearing it but
the Q.T. vu meters dont budge so I guess the audios not crossing over to it
in
the tranfer. So that leads me to think its a LOGIC issue.

Ok. I am having the SAME PROBLEM! I got a Mac Pro 2.66 and have the latest
Logic Pro and Latest QT. When I try to export audio to quicktime for a
client to see it comes out with no audio! I always worked with my G4 Dual.
Did anyone figure this out?
Thanks!

Has anyone figured out if its possible to bounce up to 4 stereo pairs
in one pass?
I need the stems so that when I merge them they will create an exact
copy of the 2 mix - with all verbs, compression etc identical.
There was some talk somewhere about using the surround bounce.
I will be researching the manual about this but any real world
experiences appreciated.

In the real world I have many times used the surround bounce function
to create many stereo pairs. It has been working fine for me. I don't
usually change the pan knob for a surround pan knob - I simply assign
my channels to different stereo output objects (according to the
surround bounce scheme).

Yes i can confirm that what Per has mentioned does in fact work.
Just be careful with surround panning though because it will affect
the mix in each of the 'pairs.'

Thanks for the info, it's great news.
I assume you have reverbs set up for each stereo output object?
I was hoping there was a way to have, say, a Maximizer or Finalizer
across the entire mix that would then go to the stem pairs, but there
is no way to bus this that I can figure out. Did you find a way?

yes you do have to do that if you want verbs and other efx ... unless
u'r using surround verbs and other efx from within logic.

Unless u'r external maximizers or the finalizer has multiple inputs
and outputs this won't happen.
Internally, you can set up multipressor and adlimiter on each output
pair and 'tweak' to your hearts contentment. (assuming you're using
only logic efx.
Seriously, has anyone figured this out? Or is anyone else other than the two
"jason's" having this problem exporting audio to quicktime video
with the new macpro?
Thanks in advance!
Jason
Still... this problem is insane! Is Apple anywhere out there? Hello?
Exporting audio to QT always worked for me! Then I buy the intel Mac... get
all software upgraded and no go. Has anyone figured this put yet?
Thanks!

I've just been experimenting with some movie scoring for the first time in
my life during the last days and I was already wondering whether I was doing
something wrong. Apparently not so.
Can this even be true? I mean, shouldn't this be considered a freaking big
major bug for anybody doing movie work?
I mean, I can just get away dragging both the movie and my bounce into
iMovie or whatever and then export from there - but then, I am by no means a
professional and I'm only working on really short movie sequences (like 3-5
minutes things) to learn a bit about movie scoring. But the extra time
involved to do this might be a serious issue for any professional.
Ridiculous. But reset assured, we won't see a fix any day soon. Emapple
doesn't fix bugs anymore, regardless of how serious they are. For the next
fix we'll have to pay big bucks. If there will be a fix, that is.

A workaround was posted there http://logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t419
Basically it's using Rosetta to open a PPC version of Logic so the function
works. The
downside is that you have to validate your AU plugs everytime you switch
from Rosetta to
normal.

Sorry to hijack this thread, just wondering how ppc Logic runs under
Rosetta..?

That link does not work for me :-( I am also having this problem on my intel
quad core 2.66 with 4 gig of Apple ram. Latest Logic Pro and latest
Quicktime Pro.
I really don't think that running Logic under Rosetta willl help anyone who
is really pushing their Logic Pro and Intel machine hard.
How long has this been broken? Did it ever work on the Intel machines? Just
moved from PC and Cubase SX3 over to Logic and this is really bad for work
flow. I was looking forward to using Logic after buying and using Logic
Express on my Powerbook with positive results.
All the very best.
Vinny.

Link works fine here.
I just nipped into Rosetta and straight out again having exported
Audio to Movie.
I was having to do it in FCP previously.
Thanks David.

My Macbook pro is my first Mac... I never managed to make this feature
work... I tried with different movies and setting but no luck...
