No... please... no!!!
Usenet groups are fine for people who have lots of time to spare, and for
whom online time is cheap. Email lists are better for almost everyone else
- but for a list with this amount of traffic it's pretty much essential to
have a mailer which can filter incoming mail directly to "folders"
or
"collections".
Personally, I use Eudora Light, and set it up to send mailing-list emails
direct to a "collection" for that list. So I've got a LUG mailbox,
a
C**ase-users mailbox, a Pulsar mailbox, et cetera. Makes things much more
manageable - I only have to pay attention to list messages when there's
something important going on, or I have some spare time, but when I need to
look something up, it's all there and archived. Much less hassle than
Usenet servers or Web forums!
