I am considering upgrading an old G4 (350mhz) machine so that is has
1G of RAM. I would then install the latest Mac OS and run only music
apps (specifically Logic 7.1) on the machine. Would such a machine
run Logic (7.1) properly? Am I wasting my time? I can get the RAM
upgrade for about $190 and the OS for another $100. Should I just
purchase another machine? (Trying to keep the landfills empty.)

I invested in the same machine and ended up in a new G5 Quad Core
because the G4 becomes so slow with the new OS and Logic 7.1 that you
need much patience to work with it.
