I don't think that is a major problem in the case of using one FF800.
MMmm, then you introduce the Hard Drive. There is a fair bit of
uncertainty, however, the different HD's out there, certainly don't
all behave the same. So, I guess it's a matter of getting some
physical experience with different combinations of equipment.

Just to review - I have about 3 devices in a FW400 hub (granite digital)
and two drives (hot swap granite digital) daisy chained into the 800
port. Do the drives run at 800 or 400? (Actually, the drive cases are
IDE, so it's probably only a marginal performance increment to the 400
drives.) I wonder if you can get SATA in an 800 Firewire case?

No point, get a SATA PCMCIA card, this will whip any FW800 array as the
limiting factor on
your drives will be the FW chip, not the HD itself! Mike
