Subject: [LUG] Transporting key-commands between Macs
Message #209279
I know it's has been on the list before, but I can't find it. I want to have my set of key-commands with me wherever I go. What file are they in and how do I install them on another computer temporarily, so that I can restore the system when I leave. Trough import keycommands or by replacing them in the preferences (and backing the old ones up)? Thanks Amir Swaab

copied this from another thread for U : *** "angelic_anuria" <angelic_anuria@yahoo.com> wrote: >I just got a new G5 and would like to get my logic prefs into the new >computer so that I do not have to set it back up from scratch. user~/Library/Preferences/Logic (folder) This is where Logic7 preferences are kept, and there are various items inside here. com.apple.logic.pro this is the "normal" preferences file, with keycommands etc.. com.apple.logic.pro.cs this is for controller surfaces PM Data this is where the Project Manager database is kept You will also find a file called com.apple.logic.pro.plist in the root level of the Preferences folder (not in this Logic folder). Ignore it, and don't copy it over from the old computer. I don't know what it contains, other than the fact that it's yet another potential thing that you might need to trash because it gets corrupted thus causing crashes or other weird stuff. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants *** For me it didnt work, though. Try importing the keycommands from your autoload.lso file, that definitely works. Grtz, RnO

Through "Import Key Commands" under options on the key commands page should be fine: It asks you to select any song with the key command set that you want, and then it re-writes the preferences file, warning you that it will rename the current one to "Logic Prefs Bak" - or something similar. To restore the old key commands, you have to chuck out the new one you have just created, and then remove "Bak" off the old version. Or of course just import the commands again from another song.
