Subject: [LUG] Import Quicktime audio into Logic
Message #209186
I want to import some stems that were converted to quicktime audio into logic7.1.1. When i go to import the tracks are grayed out. i can't seem to find how to do it if it is possible. Do i need Quicktime Pro to export it?

Simplest: Drag the Qtime files from the desktop onto your arrange window. You'll most likely get an alert that gives you the option to Open the Movie and Extract the Audio. Just select the audio option and an AIFF copy of the audio will be made which appears in both the arrange window and audio window. Qtime can handle many types of audio file - not all of them are handled by Logic. Compatible file types can be dragged directly into the audio window (AIFF, SDII, etc) Regards - Colin

Logic converted a few and they played ok and the rest were converted to AIFF. When I drag the AIFF file into logic , I get a error window saying What kind of file is this, do you want to abort? I don't get it. I converted a couple into Pro Tools and then brought them into Logic, but that seems too tedious. R
