Subject: [LUG] Re: them damn duplicating audio tracks

I understand very well your mismatch : Logic have always been not so clear about the terms "track","instrument" and "object" (even if from 7.0 some things are going better) > I am about to go buy a fifth of vodka, turn on some crazy train and > drive my > car off a bridge. But maybe if someone can help.... yeah.. that > might be a better option.. hey Elisa, put away the vodka, you are only missing some steps... After creating a new audio object (by the environment menu item "new-- > audio object" or drag/copying an existing audio object) you should: 0) select the new audio object 1) now the parameter box on the left of the of the environment window will show you name and parameters of the object 2) name it as you like, let's say "track 11" by clicking on the object's name in the parameter box or with the text tool you can grab from the toolbox 3) keep the object selected 4) click on the "channel" parameter in the parameter box 5) a drop down menu appears with a list showing "track - input - aux - instrument - ..." etc... 6) select "track" 7) you get another drop down menu with all the audio tracks available, in your case they should be 50 since, as you say, you set 50 tracks in audio drivers window 8) select "track 11" 9) that's it! now you won't get duplicates in arrange 10) repeat for _all_ new audio objects you created, assigning a _new_ track number for each object Its' quite boring but that's how it works... The nice thing is: you can do it once in your life and then save it in the autoload song or in a template song. I used to do it some years ago for 96 tracks and almost never had to create more tracks. If you have no memory problems (more audio tracks = more RAM used for the audio buffers) I suggest you to do so once and forget it forever. BTW: there's a shortcut to name all the objects with an increasing track number in one move. You can do as I described above but avoiding to name the objects. After you did the parameter job for all the tracks you need, you can 1) select all the new objects you just created 2) input a name like "track 11", where the number is relevant to the first object you created 3) hit enter and.... 4) now all the objects are correctly named as "track 11", "track 12"... and so on > Love ( and I have graduated to LOVE because you guys are awesome > and I am > just a sweet gal) LOL Plus.. I am from the South.. WE LOVE everyone! Love from a South-European / Central-Italian guy ;-))) Gianluca Sibaldi Stage Studio Pistoia - Italy _________________________________________________________________ * Logic Users Group (LUG) - http://logic-users.org - new forums! * Search the LUG: http://logic-users.org/forums/LUG/search * Logic FAQ: http://logicfaq.omega-art.com/ * List Policy: http://logic-users.org/forums/LUG/policy _________________________________________________________________
