Howdy ya'll,
I have a student/friend that is getting married this weekend, and he wanted
to sing to his bride during the ceremony. However, he has some serious
pitch problems, so I offered to record his song so I could polish it and
provide his best possible performance, and then he'd have a nicely labeled
cd to be able to present to his new wife too. However, after SEVERAL takes,
there is one particular section that desperately still needs help because
the pitch is sooooo off.
So I just was thinking about some of the stuff that ya'll have mentioned
being avail. to help with vocals and such, but can't seem to find anything
specific for really good pitch correction. I've tried Logic's Pitch
Enhance, but it's not much help. In particular, if there's anything avail.
as a fully functional 30 day demo, that's really what I need. This guy's
wedding is this Saturday, and I was really hoping to be able to let him hear
the finished product tomorrow night to make sure I've got time to make any
changes if need be. I've been working on this since this past Sun. night,
so time is certainly of the essence now.
Oh, this plug-in preferably needs to be able to work w/ Logic Express on a
Mac osX (tiger). Although I'm requesting a download-able demo because I
need this quickly for a short term use, if it works well I'm quite positive
I will be purchasing it. So I'd prefer to go ahead and get it for Logic
since that's where it'll be used. Oh, yes, I need it to work very well, but
fairly economical too would really help!
(A less desirable option would be something that'll run on a pentium 3. I
have Logic 5.01 Platinum--which I never could figure out on the pc. But now
that I'm getting Logic 7 figured out somewhat, that might be a workable
solution. On that same pc I also have SoundForge XP 5, but so far haven't
been able to get an Atares directx plug-in to show up. Don't know if xp
didn't support that, or if I just have it installed incorrectly or in the
wrong location.)
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!!
Darlene

Hi Darlene-
I would suggest downloading Antares Autotune. Here is
the website:
http://www.antarestech.com/
I am not sure if you would need VST or AU but they
have both versions available as a limited time demo.
The other option is to download a program called
Melodine. It is a little more difficult to learn/use
and is a stand alone program - not a plugin for logic.
Good Luck
Greg

Darlene,
I find that Melodyne works out well for me when I am recording someone that
sings pretty off! LOL. It seems like the worse a singer is.. the better it
works.. at least for me in my beginning stages of learning how to use it.
When I try to use it on myself.. I guess because I sing a lot of notes.. it
doesnt really know where to place my notes and I end up with a garbled
mess...
Anyway.. I digress... check out melodyne.. Its pretty cool and Oh so damn
addicting!
Sincerely,
Elisa
