Subject: [LUG] Validation Crashed?
Message #204150
I'm still having some issues getting Logic to accept VST plugs that I've converted with the VST-AU wrapper. GarageBand sees and can use all of the wrapped plugs. But when I run AU validation in Logic, it says that all of these plugs crashed validation. Every test passes until I hit the last one, where I get: Verifying Special Properties Verifying Custom UI Error, View Component specified, but can't retrieve descriptions Cocoa views available: 0 HAS FACTORY PRESETS AU VALIDATION CRASHED. Any thoughts folks? I'm baffled. Thanks much... Kris

Did you read the manual and follow all the instructions properly? I only ask this because I do tech support, and out of every 10 people asked, about 2 say yes, 3 say they scanned it, and 5 look at me, and I can tell they didn't even look at it to scan over what the software does. I know about 7 or 8 people personally who own this software and it works, so don't give up. Are you sure you are using the latest version of the software, and updated versions of the plug-ins? Have you tried to move the converted AU's from one place to another? Just a few things to think about. I am using the latest version, and I've moved the plugs between the global library and the user library, doesn't seem to matter. I'll go through the manual again, but I'm pretty sure I did things correctly. It's a somewhat simple process. Thanke... Kris

Strange -- certainly looks like he's either NOT running the latest version (v1.50.02), or he's moving his VSTs after wrapping them. If he's still stuck, ask him to email FXpansion support. Cheers, Angus. So.. like I already suggested.. contact FXpansion. George ________________________________________________________ www.utopiaparkwaymusic.com Mac AND PC: The only way to fly 8-}
