Subject: Audio Interface Suggestion Fom Powerbook?
Message #180898
Hi, Can someone suggest a "portable audio interface" that "works well" with a MAC Powerbook 1.5GHZ with 2Gigs of Ram 17'monitor. Looking for guys who are using the interface right now and not getting tons of errors, hicupps etc. Will need 1/4 inch in and possibly XLR. Probably will never record more than 2 things at a time. Want to work on songwriting ideas when away from studio. Thanks So Much!

Probably will never record more than 2 things at a > time. Want to work on songwriting ideas when away from studio. I use the MOTU 828mkII, and I'm very happy with it. I bought one initially to use in my home studio and started taking it with me on vacation. I liked it so much, I bought another one so I didn't have to mess with plugging and unplugging it into the studio rack. I carry it with my 15" 1.5Ghz Powerbook in a Gator Cases Studio-2-Go bag along with a Proteus 2000. I have a complete studio in 2 rack spaces plus padded compartment for the laptop and accessories. You may want something smaller than the 828mkII, so you might consider the new MOTU Traveler. Kind of like the 828 but smaller (and more expensive for some reason). Kent
