Perhaps it would be different for MIDI, but for audio I can drag a region
with the marquee that doesn't split the original file. Unfortunately it's a
(rather odd) three-step process:
1. select using the marquee
2. change tools to the arrow (regular pointer)
3. Drag the region, adding 'option' key at the end.
Result will be a copied region, and no split in the original.
It certainly would be easier if dragging using the marquee itself would do
this, since it's a pain to switch tools all the time. Maybe there is a way,
but I don't know it.
