hi daniel check out the latest issue of roland users magazine with ricky martin on the cover. there is an in-depth article on the version of Logic that is available to new and existing owners of that bad boy. the magazine is usually available for free at any decent music store in the U.S.... hope that helps, sean you wrote: Message: 15 Date: Wed, 8 Dec 1999 13:21:20 -0000 From: Daniel Atkinson <daniel@...> Subject: WISH: Logic MIDI / VS-1680 Hi List, I am a Roland VS-1680 user who is interested in Logic for midi sequencing and controlling my VS-1680. I have no need for the audio features in Logic since this is all taken care of by the VS-1680. Besides, I only have a PII 233 laptop PC, which doesn't have the power or a good enough soundcard to be practical for audio. I am making dance music, so logic is a great choice - I've been blown away by the quantise features, sequence looping, environment and the overall look & feel during comparisons with other software. However, to get all these wonderful features I will need logic gold or platinum, which are very expensive. It seems to me that I will be paying a lot of money for all the audio features, plug-ins etc that I will never use. I have heard that there is a special version of logic with support for the VS-1680 at a low price, but also hear that most of the midi features are missing - anyone know anything about this??? I suppose what I want to know is if there is any chance of a cut-price version of logic with none of the audio features, but the complete midi sequencer? I feel a bit sick of the prospect of paying hundreds for logic gold when I don't want the audio stuff - not sure I have much choice though because I really, really need those midi features. Is there anyone from emagic who can offer help? Regards, Daniel Sean Henriques 212-846-5363 Software Developer infoworks mailto:sean.henriques@...
