I've got a song here that has no 3rd party plugins and it crashed just the same with the scroll bars, read that again, no external plugins and it still crashed when I grabbed the scroll bars. It seems to be quite random. I've had it happen with Waves, without Waves, and other plugins that are accused of the problem. It's a Logic 7 issue, plain and simple on my machine.
