Subject: importing audio from CD
Message #176214
This may well be a really stupid question but I can't work out how to import tracks from Audio Cds directly into Logic6. Currently I have to import into ITunes then drag into Logic. How can I do this directly from Logic?

In OSX (not sure about Classic but I think the same goes there too) you can just copy the "audio files" from the CD to anywhere on your harddisk (using Finder) and then import them into Logic. If you drag them straight into the Logic audiowindow from the CD, Logic will try to use the files directly from the CD (as it does with any other drive you add audiofiles from) which will result in warnings about readonly access and slow harddisks (CD's are readonly and slow). :) So you have to put them on your harddisk somewhere first, but indeed you don't need iTunes for that. And before you import them into Logic you will need to reset the permissions so you have both read and write privledges. You'll need to copy it to the hard drive first, since playing back from CD is not recommend (way too slow). In OSX, simply drag the file from the CD straight to the hard drive. Then from the hard drive to Logic6. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!" <http://home.goodmedia.com/~zerobeat>
