In my mind this is related to one of the main issues: the issue of
layering lots' of parts and trying out a lot of different ideas. Logic
still has no Dynamic Voice Allocation, like PT, so every object has to
be created and use its' own voice. Let's say I am working with a
creative player who says, "let my try this" then "let me try
that" over
and over for 20 different types of ideas (very real world). I want to
keep them all, and be able to play them all back, and possibly even
layer some of them, so I can't assign any of them to them same object.
I have to constantly duplicate my track layout (easier in 7 when I get
it), and worry about which audio track object is already being used
somewhere in a song that might have only 10 "parts" but where some
of
the parts might have 10 or 20 different temp ideas. Dynamic Voice
Allocation would alleviate some of this, as I could just keep creating
new tracks, and let the system figure out that there aren't 128
simultaneously-sounding voices. In Logic, the maximum applies to audio
objects whether they are sound simultaneously or not.
Am I a lone voice in the wilderness?
