After reading this post I thought I would publish my success with Logic Pro
6
on my G4 Quicksilver Dual 1gig, 1.5gb ram, Adaptec PowerDomain 29160
SCSI Card, 2 internal IDE's (1 for my system and 1 for sample storage),
2-36gig SCSI Cheetah's for audio, 1-18gig Cheetah for Audio edits all in a 7
Slot Magma Chassis, 2-PowerCore PCI's and 1-PowerCore Element card.
With this system, I have successfully recorded and mixed 105 audio tracks at
24bit, 44.1khz. I haven't ordered Logic 7 upgrade yet. I'm probably going to
wait a few months since my system is very solid now.
Just my 2cents!

Professional mixing and automation
- Adaptive Track Mixer for display of selected channels
- Save/Load Channel Strip instrument and plug-in configurations
- Sample-accurate, track-based 32-bit automations
- Extensive Channel group functions for mix and edit
- Up to 255 stereo tracks
Etc.....
I'm confused. When Apple says they have up to 255 stereo tracks - what
do they mean? 255 stereo tracks to look at - But don't work?
- I Remember watching Gerhard on QuickTime - The owner of logic - tell
Steve Jobs and an Apple audience a year or so ago ( I believe it was before
Apple acquired EMagic), that Logic 6.xx, (with the then NEW g5 dual 2gig),
could playback 255 stereo tracks at once ( he did not mention SCSI). And, he
also said that you could set up over 1600 mono eq's at the same time....
So, how could he be so far off from the real world examples on this thread?
There are a bunch of very serious good people on this list who have done
extensive testing ... So, are the claims from Apple just hype?
