Hi Michael, welcome back. I hope your (very well deserved) holiday was
relaxing.
A couple of issues with the LC in Logic 7:
1 - Fader touch is not working correctly. It fails to recognize the
fader is being held steady, and drops out of writing automation after
approx 2 seconds.
2 - Some onscreen dialogs are no longer accessible to the LC, when
they were in Logic 6. Of particular concern to me is the dialog asking
"keep/delete all/delete" for newly recorded audio files deleted
from
the Arrange. Thus I cannot record in L7 without a keyboard (I can in
Logic 6) :-(
On the plus side, I have reports from LC Xmu users that the dual
processor crashing bug seems to be definitively fixed.
And many thanks for the customizable controller assignments - I'm
slowly getting my head around that...

Yes, thank you!
Question: are there any empty pages in LC for assigning custom
controllers, or do I have to replace or double with an existing control?

Scary Cocoa workaround:
Show package contents for the Logic 7 app.
Navigate to the /MacOS/resources/english/ folder therein
Rename the "delete audio files" .nib file
Deleting (from disk) newly recorded audio files from the Arrange or
Audio window will now happen immediately without presenting any
warning dialog. No undo possible. Be careful...
To delete from the Arrange or Audio window without deleting from disk
(equivalent to the dialog's "keep"), use "cut".
