Hello experienced Logic users!!! Right now I am a quite frustrated AW 2 - Logic Silver user. I am using my AW 2 card and Logic silver mostly to import DAT sound digitaly onto files and do minor editing before exporting them to my non-linear video editing program. I have been doing fine untill recently, when I started getting´warnings when playing back my files in Emagic silver. Even those files that had been working perfectly before now caused breakdown due to sync problems. The warning have been of two kinds: 1. Circular event recognized, pleace note error and contact dealer, or, 2. Error in communication between hardware and program. Sample rate xxxx recognized, 48 Mhz set. ´For each time I restart playback, sample rate xxxx increases and eventually ended upp as Donald Dúck. I have manually set the program to sample rate 48 khz since my DAT are running at 48 Khz. This have caused no problem before. All other settings should be the same as before. The only new in my computer I can think of is that my friend have been tryning defragmenting my hardisk using Newton. My dealer told me this may have caused the problem. We therefore reformated the disk and reinstalled all programs from original disks. The problem was the same. However I do not get the warning with circular event any more, but my sync problem maintain. I have been using hours in front of my manuall and computer, and I do not get anywhere.
