I freeze UAD and PowerCore stuff at least--don't know what DSP card you're referring to. (I know it says in the Logic 6 manual you can't do that. The manual is **WRONG** I make a point of explaining that in my book). But more importantly, this is pure conjecture. You have NO IDEA what Emagic's priorities were or are, or how they have changed them. Moreover, you have no idea who works on what part of the application, and how it affects other parts. Example--it is VERY unlikely that the person making sure that GarageBand Software Instruments work in Logic 7 is the same person (or people) working on the Audio Engine, so working on GarageBand Software Instrument support in Logic 7 wouldn't actually take ONE MINUTE away from the audio engine team. Moreover, if we are conjecturing, perhaps the focus on "consumer" markets had some positive effects, such as Apple Loop support, and the new addition of, in addition to traditional "turn on looping" method of looping, the GarageBand method of "simply drag and resize your loop at will" which to me is one of the absolute KILLER things about Logic 7 if you are into loop-based music! So we don't know what effect Apple's direction, if any, had on Emagic. And we don't know if it's all been bad. I like to think it hasn't.
