Dennis, thanks for the kind words - I'm all for making things as easy as
possible for the end user - I use these same tools all day long too ! I was
simply sharing my thoughts and concerns about how this *could* be used.
Imagine a university where every computer in every dorm is on a node. As
stated my Michael, every one of those machines CAN run Logic 7 without
additional licenses ! If they all could pool their sample libraries onto a 2
terabyte multi-level RAID HD system, then "Huston, we have a
problem"....
If this is you at your studio with your older G4 and new G5 getting more
productivity and a snappier way of working - I'M ALL FOR IT !!!
Again there might be other reasons why this isn't possible, I don't know.
Again, thanks for the kind compliments. You made my week ;)
By the way - Jeff Gastineau (who replied earlier in this thread) is THE MAN
responsible for giving me the name SKIPPY. Way back in 1988 when I first
started working for Korg USA, after a product demonstration where I got very
excited about a new product, Jeff said "You don't act like a John, you
act a
lot more like a Skippy, to me" - and Jack Hotop and Ben Dowling were in
hearing distance and never let me forget the name....... Thanks Jeff =)
