I have used a ton of gate plugins on drum tracks with little success.
Waves plugins all destroy the attack. Logic's built-in Noise Gate
plugin is the one to use. It isolates the tracks without destroying
their attack or release. Kudos to Emagic!!!

Yes I agree. The Logic gates are great! I have also successfully been
using Logics enveloper plug-in to on drum tracks to shape the attack
during the mixing phase.

I love it too. It's the only one I use. It makes cleaning up live drum
tracks a breeze if the drummer is good. If the drummer is not so good I
sometimes have to automate the threshold of the gate or go in and use
gain change destructively on the audio waveform.
