Has anyone seen anything about Logic 7 doing offline AU bouncing???
I didn't see it in the PDF. This is a HUGE feature for me. Cubase SX
does it beautifully with VST's.
THANKS

L6 does offline bouncing already. It's still in L7.

crap... sorry, that's not what I meant. I meant a way to bounce
files with plug-ins in the arrange window and not having to re-
import them... something that does it automatically.
thanks!

Ahh, you're thinking of something that might be called "bonce in
place"
or "freeze between locators" etc? I read the Apple site and the
PDF and
I'm quite sure I would have noticed such a great new feature to speed
up the workflow. Sorry. (still hoping it's there and that I missed it
;-)
All the best

Do you need something beyond what Freezing the track provides?

I do: the ability to cut 'n slice the bounced file and manipulate it
graphically as an audio region. Currently, on audio tracks, I have to
unfreeze, edit, refreeze (600 hundred times!). And with AI's the regions are
midi, but at some point in production I need to work with and edit
waveforms.
Plus, with Audio Instruments like Spectrasonics, which take >30 seconds
each to load up when opening a song, a 'bounce in place' would let me remove
the Instrument from the song, greatly reducing load times on most of my
songs (which can take up to 5 minutes to open).
There're other reasons too, but for me those 2 alone are worth implementing
the feature.

Bounce & Add from Bar 1. Then you just have to create a track and place
it.
Freeze will do what you want transparently with access to the files
available in the Freeze Folder. The Freeze files can then be mamed
later for exporting/importing if required. Can't see an alternative.

I second that . I think this missing feature and the lack of a proper
audio editing are the biggest problems in Logic . That´s why I
didn´t
upgrade to 6 . I didn´t felt it very different from 5 ... and I
needed to buy a mac on top of it...
I Hope this will be solved on subreleases .
