Perhaps you should try out Soundiver. There's a free Beta version at the
emagic site.

Can Sounddiver handle softsynth patches? I haven't used Sounddiver in a
long long time. But, if I am using a software synth I shouldn't have to
open a second piece of software to get more efficient access to patches.
What I was referring to (in my original post) is the fact that some
hardware synths handle patch access reasonably well. The Korg Triton
(and its big touch screen) comes to mind. Softsynths have a potentially
unmatchable advantage in this area, but the Emagic synths don't utilize
this advantage.

SoundDiver only works with hardware.
