Incorrect.
The virus decribed is ExploreZip. Other virii have used this same behaviour
of *not* attaching to user's emails but generating & sending their own
generic emails.
You mentioned CERT as an authority, but do not appear to have checked them
for info. They issued an advisory for this virus coded CA-99-06-explorezip.

Talk about fake alerts when a fake one comes up.

Virus variants rapidly appear using altered names etc. Non-specific text etc
is probably a more reliable indicator of dubious origin.
Never open an extension unless it has been discussed or accompanied by
specific personal communication from the sender.
