Subject: OT bought CDRW cannot find other CD rom
Message #9922
Hi Christian, Thanks for your reply. I am sorry but I forgot something to add to the information. The new CDRW is a scsi one and the other is a IDE. It used to show up when I started up the computer. The Bios saw it as a Master slave, I was even able to start up from the cdrom. Can there be a conflict between a IDE apparatus and a SCSI one? The scsi card is on IRQ 10 and there are no conflict between any devices. As far as my system tells me and I can't find any conflict either. I am not very familiar with the differences between IDE and SCSI but I hope that I can solve the conflict soon. Thanks, Rudie >Hi Rudie >>since I installed the CDRW my other CD rom reader is not >>accessable any more, I only see one CD reader in my configuration. >It is very likely that they both have the same SCSI number.
