Thanks for the info...those CD environments seem rather specific, and each
one seems to work differently.

OK, I have installed the plug-in from the preferences. Logic sees the
US-428, and there is a nice picture of it and everything.

Maybe that is my problem...when I solo a track, or select something, or use
a transport control _in Logic_ the corresponding button lights up on the
US-428. When I try to issue a command from the US-428 I see MIDI messages on
screen, but nothing happens the way I would expect.
As this is my first attempt at using any kind of control surface, maybe I am
missing something obvious...however, from what you say, maybe it just isn't
installed right, or else maybe I have a defective unit???
