If you have had track automation disappear - that is to say it still functions but you can't see it graphically - here's why it happens and, better yet, a workaround. If you cut and paste or drag in such a way that automation ends up getting moved to a spot before the first bar of your file, Logic will still keep the information in it's automation list but will no longer display it graphically on tracks in the arrange window. This is obviously a bug, but until it is fixed in, say, 2113 or so, here's the fix: Go to the automation window (default keycommand is option A) and delete anything before the beginning of your file. Be careful, because Logic will sometimes put the events out of order (!) if they are in negative bars. (This program has never been happy with negative bars ESPECIALLY if there are mixed meters.) Once you eliminate the offenders, the graphic display should return immediately. Cheers, Michael A. Levine
