I've heard this rumor too from a friend of a beta tester.....and believe there's a good chance that's the way it will happen. There's one major problem with this approach however- you'd no longer be able to assemble CDs on a machine running seperate from Logic. This makes about as much sense as including DVDPro2 with Final Cut.....they're both "video" applications right? Assembling and mastering a CD from finished stereo files is a TOTALLY different process from what happens in Logic. Yes, there is some crossover (ie shared plug-ins), but in many facilities entirely different people, machines and rooms are involved. If Waveburner is included into Logic 7 those of us using it on seperate machines would then have to buy a $1000 program just for the CD mastering portion. Apple if you want to be the choice of high end audio people, give us an equivalent of DVDPro for CD mastering. Make it the hands down best software for the job. Put a souped up version of iTunes into LogicExpress and Logic.....but also give us a serious mastering program. >I think it's *really* bad policy on the part of Apple/Emagic to leave Waveburner and SoundDiver for so long. Existing paid customers have been effectively dropped. I completely agree. They promised me over a year and half ago an OSX version was very close (in fact, someone I won't name promised they would "work something out" for an upgrade to OSX when I bought my third license of Waveburner, since I was concerned the OSX version HAD to be right around the corner). Something is wrong with Apple killing OS9 boot on new machines (which in and of itself I don't have a problem with)....and yet owning a company that has software that still doesn't run on OSX. (Yes, I want to get this person in trouble even though it is a big rumour). Perhaps folding WaveBurner into DVD Studio Pro would be a more logical decision. They're both "authoring" programs. Hmmm, I dunno. Good reasons for either I suppose. I do all my mastering in Logic, so making it better at mastering would be my choice. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!" <http://home.goodmedia.com/~zerobeat>
