hi everyone.
i'm new here, so forgive me if this question has been asked 500 times
before and just point me to the right FAQ ...
otherwise, here's my problem:
i am new to logic and the environment thingy... what i'm trying to do
is build a universal monitor mix which i can route to my outputs 3-4
from where it goes to the headphone amp of my singer.
additionally i want to add reverb to the track which is being recorded,
which only goes to the singer's headphones, but not to the recording
track or the main out.
i tried something like this: i added pre-fader sends to bus 1 to all
tracks in my project, and set the output of bus 1 to 3-4. this is the
usual way to build a monitor mix, i guess? or is there a simpler
solution?
now for the reverb-part, there is a problem: i want to build a
universal environment, which i can simply load and use without having
to tweak much. so i guessed, it would be best, to use a second bus for
the reverb (with output set to bus 1), and simply send some of the
signal there, directly from the input, instead of having to manage a
second bus in every track. so i created an "audio input" object,
and
added a send which leads to the reverb bus there.
so far, so good: the setup seems to work, but only as long as long as i
dont click record enable in any track. as soon as i record enable
anything, the send in the input track doesn't work anymore... and i
can't hear any reverb.
i wonder if i did something wrong or if it's simply not the right
way... how are you guys solving this?
regards and thanks..

Use a send on an Aux object with the Aux input set to that input,
instead of an Input object. Record-enabling a track with the same
input will not disable the send on the Aux.

Have you tried checking 'Software Monitoring' in the Audio Hardware
preferences? The only way to hear live effects in Logic (while the
transport isn't running) is to let Logic process the signal directly
instead of any other audio hardware.
