Subject: Re: [LUG] SD & Short Length IR Creation?
Message #160782
Hi Mark, >> >>After you deconvolve your IR, you will end up with with space at >>the beginning and end of the file that is nearly silent. The space >>at the beginning will delay the reverb. So need need to trim the >>file, and add short fades to the ends. > I'm going to try this, but I don't think this is going to cut enough of the length of an IR that is 12 second long. It seems to be that the length of the IR depends absolutely of the length of the Sine-Sweep at the moment of the deconvolution. A good friend of mine sent me today a Starter Pistols and a Spike files. With them I have achieved the short length I was looking for, as short as 0.635s. It works perfectly. >> >>And of course a 13 seconds length IR is a juice eater in the CPU. >>Right. On my system (1GHz 1G RAM G4) there are IR's I've recorded >>using SD that won't load into SD. > In my system it plays ok but it is 1.25 dual processor. >> >>>What I want is the creation >>>of the actual IR ( the audio file) to be short, let's say 3 or less >>>than 3 seconds instead of 12 or 13. >> >>Can you record an IR of SD?? I never tried. > No. I haven't >> >>You could also try using a noise burst instead of a sine sweep. >>Keep in mind that sampling modulated reverbs won't "work" -- >>especially using a sine sweep. Got it. Thanks once again Mark. -- Willian Aleman Yonkers, N.Y. USA
