Subject: Re: Can Logic + laptop replace MPC4k?

I don't see how I can change patterns in Logic. your sequence would be an arrangement in logic. if you wanted to change the 'sequence' you would have to make the next arrangement active. >I imagine that the sampler function of the mpc can be done, >but I'm not sure how easy it is to record a sample and play >it back again with EXS24. it is much easier to sample with an mpc4k. you hit the sample button, hit start, voila, it's recorded, named, and sent to a pad. to sample in logic for exs24 you would have to record your sample with logic, export your trimmed sample, rename (if you want) your wav, create a new exs24 program assign your new wav, now you can play it. mpc's use is different than the use of logic by far. i have an mpc2k xl and i use it to make beats. i then import the beats (using smpte and 8-outs) into logic (these days it cubase sx) and get to editing. i also use soft samplers like exs24 or kontakt as i have way more sounds on my pc then my mpc will ever have. my choice is a exs24/kontakt and logic/cubase over an mpc anyday. unlimited sounds and umlimited growth potential.
