Never used Waveburner, but iTunes burns CDs just fine for me. I use DVD
Studio Pro for DVDs.

I miss it too. I've heard it will be folded into Logic 7. Have you noticed
that
in the XSkey control panel there's something called "Studio Tools"
that is
grayed out. I bet that's it.
The only reason I ever boot into OS9 is to use Waveburner.

Actually, if you look further in the XSKey panel, you'll also see
"Logic Series" and "Software Instruments".
These are just category headings.
Don't get excited for nothing........

PS - I think it's *really* bad policy on the part of Apple/Emagic to
leave Waveburner and SoundDiver for so long. Existing paid customers
have been effectively dropped. The OSX SoundDiver beta works to some
extent but has serious bugs and there's no word of a beta update or a
full working version.
Bad, bad, bad.........

Yes - I have not used an alternative to Waveburner, and I am
hoping that some of the rumors are true that
1) WB will be part of a future Logic or...
2) The OS X beta is almost ready to go....
Apple seems to want to offer the entire spectrum of audio from
"GarageBand" to pro - and if that's so, they will have to offer
something that fits the needs of those of us who use serious
mastering software like Waveburner.
But the waiting is getting difficult... and dual-bootable machines
will be extinct soon....
