Hi Tim,
I have been screaming for the cute little DP Camera icon thingie in Logic
since I switched. The closest I have been able to come is
highlighting the desired channels in the audio mixer, automation to latch,
hit play and send all fader values. But it is flakey, gives buffer overload
messages sometimes, and does not work with midi. Also, it would be great
to be able to snapshot just one plug-ins complete parameter set as you can
do in DP.
In the old DP days, one could initialize a blank 64 track template
by setting all volumes to 90 (the DP faders would learn any midi message
and thus were slavable to anything) and clicking the camera icon on the
console). Voila, a perfect row of cc7s down the line, all tracks. DP would
always controller chase these, insuring integrity and balance in the face
of accidental unintentional fader moving.
And I can still remember when my ol hoss Bessie had all her own real
teeth. (I talk to myself too these days)

Even Cubase Audio Falcon had this feature back in the early 90s...
