People, What do we care...this is our egos reacting to extraneous bull crap that no one wants to care about...Really! If we think about it. We are all trying to grow out of this crap. But, when we get caught up in it, we drag the LUG down to its lowest form of mind set. We have to either ignore comments or better yet, say things like, "I understand your pissed off, but, is it something I can help you with?". Engaging the person to resolve their resentment, not piss them off further. Would you, if you were say an Englishman, go to your local pub and have a few pints, and then get into fisticuffs with the nearest Irish man you see. A centuries old battle that never did anything conducive for anybody or for the process of Peace. It just created more resentment and drew people apart. If the answer is no, then we should look at the LUG as a daily reflection of our lives...do we do this type of crap on daily basis when we go out of the house. Are we always this confrontational. If we are, then we have to check ourselves. Because honestly speaking, we have better things to be doing. Like making music and having sex. So, if you go to your local pub and while having a few pints, a 200 pound muscular Irish men comes in and says "All Englishmen are F**king wankers...Anybody want to argue that point with me"! What will your reaction be? Is it really worth taking a chance on possibly dying, because when he broke your nose, the bone got pushed up into your brain? Will it be worth all that, just because of his resentment and anger? Would it be worth it, because he called you a F**king Wanker? Or, would you rather walk across the room and try to make time some nice looking woman. I know my comparison is extreme, but it all is relative when you look at it closely. Remember what happened to Jaco Pastorious...Was it really necessary to exercise such extreme force for drunken man or would it have been more appropriate to restrain him and call the cops? When they found him, he was lying in one inch pool of his own blood. He is dead and his music died with him. The point is, let us upgrade our thinking and our process of reaction. If, we as a people do this, we are better off as a constructive collective. If we don't, we just look like a bunch immature butt heads who can't handle being in the same room with each other. And then there will surely be need to have separate LUG's, one for LAM and one for LAW. Anyway, to quote from a cool movie "the Matrix"..."Humans are a virus". So, do we want to cater to the idea of being a virus, or do we want to cater to the idea of being the cure? Speaking of Constructive Collectives, I remember "Ynoochi" who is primarily a PC user encouraged everyone on this list to donate a few bucks to Hanno's studio, when it was destroyed by lightning. And, Hanno is a primarily a Mac user. I think that is what we are looking for here on the LUG. I thought that was a great use of every ones time. That was cool!
