Subject: Audio Tip: Plug-Ins setting between different Sound Cards.
Message #9762
Hi Logicians Sometimes you want or have the need to take your song with your audio files and plug-in settings into another studio which has a different audio sound card than the original source in your environment, or switch sound cards into your own environment, but when you get there, the song opens without the plug-in settings. All the plug-ins in your audio mix now appear crossed out. Then, you say "oops, where is my mix, where is my setting?" The Solution: Before you go to the destination studio prepare your plug-in settings in the way described below: 1) Save each plug-in being used by using the "Save" command in the Plug-Ins flip menu. 2) Create a new folder. 3) Open LAMP's Plug-In Settings folder, and drag from there into the destination folder the plug-in setting files that you saved in step number 1. 4) Take this folder, and carry it with your song file. Once in the destination system, 5) Drag the setting plug ins files into their corresponding folder in the Plug-in Setting destination. Example: Your saved FatEQ into the corresponding FatEQ of the destination system, and so on. After this the files will appear in Logic audio fader under the plug-ins flip menu. 6) Open your song, and make the adjustment accordingly with the new sound card. 7) Assign your plug-ins to the new audio faders 8) Go into the plug-ins flip menu and load your original plug-ins setting. 9) You're done. I did the test with two computers, the source one using the Korg 1212I/0, and the second one using the Mac AV. For easy searching in the destination system, I saved the plug-ins with the AV letters at the end of the plug-ins. Example: FatEQ/AV Hope this helps you in transferring your song between systems without messing up your original mix.
