Subject: Resetting the preferences
Message #158327
Here's a whacky item - I have a RIP (for my 7600 plotter) that uses a dongle and a file called IP Preferences. For some reason, it shows as a Logic Audio file. I remember there being an icon relationship on older macs but this is screwing up my plotter. Any thoughts? Second issue: I'm trying to start up the Set Up Assistant and it won't go. Logic will shut down as it should and then it just returns me to the desktop. I've removed the prefs files (all 4 were copied and the originals trashed) from my prefs folder but it still doesn't start. Logic detects the missing prefs and asks to start the assistant but it doesn't execute. Help. Brian

Hello! This is a known issue with some versions of Logic (particularly the 6.3.3 installer, at one point in time). Just download the 6.3.3 installer again, and make sure you DELETE all other versions of Logic on your system (and trashing the prefs might be good too). Here is the download link (Emagic replaced it with a new one when they found out about this problem): ftp://ftp2.emagic.de/pub/logic/updmac/platinum/Logic_Platinum_6.3.3.dmg Chris M.
