Subject: [LAW] UAD-1 & LAW 5.51 anyone?
Message #158306
Hi! Is there anyone out there using the UAD-1 card and Logic for Windows with sucsess? I have just ordered one. Even if I crossgraded to Cubase SX2 some month ago, I still use Logic from time to time. PS Cubase is nice, but I find Logic less CPU hungery. Thor Mamen

Yes, I have both the UAD and TC powercore cards running in XP on a P4 2.8, with of course LAWP 5.5.1. Works just great, and, to digress a little, I find the Cards complement each other nicely - UAD for EQ, and Compression, the Powercore for Reverb, chorus (the UAD reverbs are very good as well). BTW both Nigel on the UAD, and Tubifex on the Powercore are great for treating DI'ed guitars. Nigel I prefer for rock/more heavily distorted sounds, Tubifex for clean/blues sounds. Nice to have the choice of both :-). kind regards Mark Cahill

I bought UAD-1 StudioPack from Universial Audio with all plugins bundled (incl Fairchild, Dreamverb & Cambridge) I'm really looking forward to try them out. I use PodXT Pro for my guitar, so I don't know if need to use Nigel. Does Nigel support bassguitar preamps? (a BassPod XT pro is on my wishlist) I know TC powercore is good, but I can't afford that right now, because I ordered a new Mackie Universial Control and Fxpansion BFD drums too ;-) Thor Mamen

Yep - that's me - I compose in LAWP 5.51 and master in Nuendo, both using UAD.. no problem! Cheers, Neil Parfitt

No problems whatsoever but you should be aware that it´s a mix only card, latency is too heavy for recording. Once recorded delay compensation in Logic takes care of business on audiotracks and instruments. If you haven´t heard these plugins yet get ready for a treat, the only problem is that they are so good that almost everything else sounds cheap after these. Henrik Krogh henrikkrogh@...
