I've been using Logic Delta 4.6 for audio for about 2 years and I'm
starting to experiment with MIDI. One thing I noticed a long time ago
is that I can't hear the metronome when I'm playing or recoding audio
(yes, it is swithced on). I am now working on learning more about
MIDI and I have an M-Audio Midisport Uno 1x1USB interface with a
Roland EP7II digital keyboard. My operating system is Windows ME. The
recording soundcard is M-Audo Delta 66 with M-Audio Omni I/O external
box for audio i/o. Here are the problems:
1.Can only hear the metronome through the keyboard. This makes sense
as the keyboard is acting as my sound module, but the metronome
clicks come through as a piano or strings or whatever is selected on
the keyboard. There is no click. Never hear the metronome through my
monitor (stereo system) that I use for audio.
2. The signal seems to be received, as the name of the notes being
played on the keyboard show up on MIDI in/ MIDI out in the transport
window, but no sound is recorded. If I open up the score window, I
can only hear notes thet are dragged with the mouse to the staff. If
I play the keyboard, nothing happens. I want to be able to play a
piano piece and have the notes show up on the score, then print out
the score or transpose, edit, etc. Isn't this how that should work?
Also, I've seen a lot of people refer to the environment window. The
manual says nothing about this, and it isn't listed among the others
in the windows drop down menu. Is it part of the arrange window? I
know it's a stupid question, but I don't know what is meant by
environment.
Any quick response is greatly appreciated.
