Subject: [GEN]: Logic note36 = Akai XE8 note48?
Message #158147
hello, a simple question: i'm using a Akai XE8 Drum expander (old-skool i know!) which i have programmed to use the GM drum map to match my MPC2000 - ie Kick-1 = 36 (C2), etc. However the weird thing is that when i play a C2 in Logic (shows up as C2 in Transport, and my XE8 Mapped Instrument), it is reflected in the XE8 as midi note 48. I've set up a transformer to subtract 12 from the note number, but I'm just wondering if this is because of some kind of preference or something relating to older MIDI kit? afaik the XE8 itself isn't set to transpose or anything, and neither is my arrange track... also, only the XE8 is affected, not my other synths... best regards, charlie
