Hi everyone,
I had a very bizzare situation happen yesterday. I haven't discovered what
caused the the problem though. Here's what happened. Wednsday, I
downloaded the Beta 1.9 but didn't install it. Thursday I ran software
updated
for my dual 1gig Quicksilver mac to update my OSX Panther software.
However, when I launched Logic Platinum 6 and installed a MasterX5, my
meters which are normally green and yellow were completely showing white.
I tried to "Refresh Audio Unit Plugins" from the 1.8 installation
file but nothing
changed. Tried reinstalling permissions and repairing permissions but it
didn't
correct the problem. However, my MachFive AU, and my Oxford EQ
disappeared. When I tried to reinstall them, I would get a white splash
screen
that only said continue. I'm not sure what may have caused the problem
either
the 1.9 Beta or the OSX updates that were installed. It forced me to
reinstall
my OSX Panther software. I then ran software update again to update OSX
Panther but stopped at the latest Security Update, iSynch Update. I'm
wondering if the latest Security Update gave me a problem alsol. Upon doing
this Panther created a "Previous Systems" folder that I was able
to copy my
AU plugins and PowerCore plugins to there perspective places of my new
OSX install. I also had to reinstall my 2408MKII's PCI-424 AU driver and
MOTU USB driver for my MidiTimepiece USB AV. All is well again.
Anyone else experience this madness?
Randy
