John,
It is actually not really a "docking" feature, but I know what you
mean
by using that term. It is actually something that you have to MAKE
appear, rather then "dock".....
All you have to do is go into the local VIEW menu (that is the smaller
menu above your arrange area, and not the larger, main menu up top) and
then CHECK "Transport" in there.
There ya go!
To resize the area of where the embedded transport appears (as some of
the display parameters could be hidden), just hover your mouse over the
cross-sectional area where the arrange area, track list, and time line
all meet. In that CORNER right there, if you hover over it with your
mouse you will see a little cross-hairs like thing appear.... Just
click and drag to resize the embedded transport view.

Is anyone else having difficulties with this setup?
I keep getting stuck notes.
Initially, I thought it was my Virus Kb, but then I realised that the
problem existed when I was using the piano roll keyboard in the matrix
editor too.
If I play notes too rapidly, it appears that the Note-off command gets
forgotten!
I'm sure that I didn't have this problem before - could it be something
I've done in Logic?
I'm pretty sure that I have the latest AMT8 driver installed too - how
can I verify this?
Could the Core Midi drivers for my RME Multiface be causing this?
Many thanks for any help.

Afaik, Logic 6 installs the latest AMT8 drivers. I'd check the chase
and MIDI thru settings. You also might be having problems resulting
from two different interfaces connected to the same computer -- try
disconnecting the RME. Of course, if your keyboard is getting stuck
notes when its MIDI is disconnected, then it isn't Logic or the
interface.
