A 'half' work-around (since it's rather silly looking) is not to use triplets as such, but the N-tuplet tool, and set 6:4 /8 in the checkboxes. Input notes on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th and increase length of the first two until they have quarter look. The 'silly' catch is that the desired group now shows a '6' above the bracket... This nesting of tuplets has been a long time wish, like the cross-staff beaming option, and beamed multiple grace notes, and... and...
