Subject: LAMS -> LAMP conversion
Message #9711
I would like to exchange tips on importing LASM/AV in LAPM/DAE (both 4.0.7). This seems to be a lot of work, especially as the TDM mixer will copy the AV-tracks, but not their levels or pan settings. Also, interleaved stereotracks will be imported but not played back, because the DAE can't. Unfortunately there's no automatic conversion on loading the Silver song, and conversion by hand involves using an external audio-program (saved by BarbaBatch once more) and reimporting/replacing the files. To add insult to injury, the 'update OMS equivalents' function has mysteriously disappeared in 4.0.7... All in all, it took me 4 hours before I could start mixing this relatively simple song.(BTW, this song was one of many made on an Imac333/LAMS/Opcode USB MIDI interface/AT condenser mike/Symmetrix mike pre-amp combo that really rocks) I would be interested in exchanging tips & tricks, as I will have to do this LAMS -> LAMP conversion a lot. I think this is something a lot of people do, start at home in Silver and refine/mix in a studio with Gold/Platinum and ProTools hardware, so IMO conversion should be made automatic/very easy.
