A SCSI (RAID) card with a very fast SCSI hard drive will help, sure.

Nope. Either use something like an Stealth G3 or gPort (you will loose the
internal modem) or use a USB MIDI interface.

Yes, I checked the Audiowerk ASIO driver with DP 2.5 and it worked fine.
BTW: I just put a new version of the ASIO driver on www.emagic.de, it
finally should work with Mac OS <8.5 and now also has support for Metro5
(a
work around for a bug in Metro...). The text on the web page is not updated,
but the driver is new - believe me.
BTW2: I also put a new version of the SoundManager driver on the web. It now
works fine with 3 Audiowerk8 and all 12 stereo outputs at the same time
(with the right software)!

Yes, Logic doesn't check for applications of other vendors and refuses to
work, when they are installed on the same machine :-)
