I just don't have time to sift thru 160,000 posts to get some advice!
I have Ensoniq PARIS 2.1 on IBM sync'd to Logic 1.7 on ATARI 1040 ST
The sync used to work, but now a year later into the project the sync
is garbage! The two computers are almost 2 BPM off!!!! I am using
SMPTE MTC. I do have the Logic 2.0 upgrade, but didn't do it B'cuz
everything was fine B4. Now it is time to mix and master, and I can't
get it to sync to save my life, much less my business. I even loaded
the original files from when it DID sync, and they don't sync either!
Time to re-install logic? PARIS? HELP????

Use MIDI Clock (aka MIDI Beat Clock) instead. Then the
two tempi will be locked together.
Or maybe you actually changed the tempo on either Logic
or Paris after the fact? Then it definitely won't synch
like it used to.

Can't! PARIS does not send MIDI Clock, only MTC. The two tempi
are the same. I even opened an old file from when the sync was
tight, and--same thing! If I advance the Atari Logic tempo approx.
1.8995 BPM faster than the PARIS tempo (i.e. PARIS at 120, Atari
Logic at 121.8995) I can get pretty close. But this is like
having 2 turntables with the same record on them, and trying to
beat match them, and keep them matched for an entire song! At that
point, what's the use of sync??? Why did it used to work, and then
suddenly is way off (by about 1.8995 bpm)?
