ESB was just generally too flakey on my machine (mostly just with kloppy). That takes care of the first beat problem and makes i/o cue routing a lot more intuitive too. Speaking of latency, I have only just begun to realize that the ESB latency for instruments has been really messing with me. Have you had trouble with that. I feel like I am compensating while I am playing and have to end up quantizing everything. I never bothered measuring it but I suspect it is considerably more than I have been accustomed to before using ESB.
