Subject: [LAW] how to use dfx midi-gate with logic
Message #156316
Hi, I have tried to get the dfx midi-gater (vst) to work with logic without success ... I only found info on how to use it with cubase and can't figure out how to get it to work in logic ... has anyone found the solution? Or an alternative? Sincerely, Danny Boomsma P4 2500 win XP home Logic for Windows :( 5.51

Put the MIDI Gate into a VSTi slot, so as to be able get MIDI into it. From the MIDI Gate's Sidechain menu, choose the source Audio Track. You might as well convert the Notes to cc7 with a Transformer, and route that to the Audio Track to modulate the Fader in realtime *with* note lengths and velocity. And it seems my Logic gold version can only sidechain to audiotracks .. The alternative you suggest with a transformer sounds good, but I am completely lost using the transformer ... so I would be very gratefull if you could give me an example with the note-to-cc7-to instrumenttrack case ..
