Good day,
I wonder if someone can help please. .... I am using Logic Silver
4.8.1 on PC. What I always seem to get is some strange flanging type
effect on MIDI drum tracks ... this happens with whichever module I
use (Korg N1R, Boss DR-670 or Roland TD-6).
If I get MIDI data into logic a recorded from trigger inputs on the
TD-6, use a keyboard or manually place notes in the matrix editor,
the problem persists. I don't seem to have this trouble with any
other MIDI instrument sounds.
Is there some setting in Logic? Send notes twice on Ch 10??
If I play MIDI files in windows media player, it's ok. If I play
drum samples on the devices using direct hardware MIDI connections,
it's ok. That's why I wonder if it's something in Logic, the problem
seems to only be the case when I fire drum sounds with MIDI from
Logic!
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Robert Bowman
PS: Sorry I never post anything constructive here, a newbie is what
I am.

The solution is quit simple. You should turn of 'Local midi' on your
synth. Your drummodule or keyboard sends midi directly to
the 'soundengine' of the drummodule or keyboard. So it will receive
the midi-information twice (also from the sequencer).
I think that that's the solution, but it could be something else.

Thanks for the help today. Just to let you know, I've sorted it out.
In case you're curious, my environemnt was setup with synth objects
connected to interface objects. I had foolishy assigned the MIDI port
on both the synth object and the interface object on the drum machine
synth. Hmmmmmmpf. Taking the port off my drum machine synth object
now results in good sounding drum loops and not a bunch of jet
aeroplanes taking off!!
Thanks very much for your help.
Regards
Robert
