Should it be > done often? Pierre, In general, I would say that it helps the performance of your system as a whole. Also, it can help prevent problems of "deleting" and "accessing" files that would at other times be problematic. Lastly, using the "Repair Disk" feature *could* save your hard drive from failure (or at least warn you when there are serious problems), if you perform it every now and then. 1. Once a month or so, "Repair Disk" on the physical hard drive (which can only be done when booted from the OS X install disc). 2. Once a week or so, "Repair Disk Permissions" on your partitions of the physical hard drive. This can be done at any time by going to your UTILITIES folder (within the Applications folder) and using the Disk Utility program. Again, don't expect any *blazingly clear* performance increase jumps when doing all of this, it is just meant "general maintenance" of your system and for keeping an eye on your hard drive's health.
