> how about STS4000 sampler for PULSAR? is that good as GIGASAMPLER?
>
Hi Sandi
I own pulsar. Creamware had a problem with Nemesys because they didn't adapt
to an interface that Creamware offered to Nemesys for Pulsar and
Gigasampler. Nemesys are notorious for their arrogance and reluctance to
adapt code for anyone.Creamware must have got peeved at this and they tried
making their own. Just to make the problem worse Creamware now refuse to
spend just a few days adapting a GSIF interface for Gigasampler. On the
Pulsar list there are a lot of very pissed off owners who bought Pulsar to
run with Gigasampler after seeing official statements to the effect.
No STS4000 doesn't come close to Gigasampler. The main problem is it still
uses a lot of Pulsar DSP which then cripples the Pulsar for anything else
substantial. The idea was to spread the work load and use the PC CPU for
such a sampling system.
Also 20st voices doesn't compare to 128 with Gigasampler on the same
machine. Aswell as the fact that STS is totally RAM based which doesn't
compare do disk based freedom.
We need people to make noise about this incompatabilty or it will never
happen. Gigasampler and Pulsar together would be incredible.
